Philip Messent
Family Therapist (volunteer)
A few words about me
I am retired from the NHS where I worked for 30 years in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, seeking to support children, young people and their families in ways of understanding and resolving difficulties that they were experiencing. I now volunteer at Baobab as I want to play my part in supporting young refugees and those close to them in managing all of the difficulties involved in migrating to a new country.
What does your role at Baobab involve?
I see young people and their families or other concerned adults to help resolve any difficulties in making a life here; in talking I find often new ways forward will emerge.
What is your desert island book or music?
The Complete William Shakespeare
What 3 words would you use to describe Baobab?
Welcoming, supportive, lively!
