Fundraising Volunteer
A few words about me
I’m passionate about supporting people who have experienced displacement and are navigating the asylum system, and feel incredibly motivated by work that centres dignity, care and community. I recently completed my Master’s in Migration, Mobility and Development, after having worked with women and families on the move in Calais. Through both of these experiences, I’ve come to recognise the power of being led by lived experience, of listening to, learning from, and amplifying the voices of survivors.
I’m especially inspired by spaces – like Baobab – where people feel heard, valued and able to shape the services and systems that affect their lives.
What does your role at Baobab involve?
I support our Fundraising Lead, Carlo, in writing applications for grants so that Baobab can continue to provide crucial holistic support to young survivors. I also keep our donors updated on the work going on at Baobab, the stories of some of the young people in our community, and events we are hosting. My role varies a lot – which I love!
What is your desert island book or music?
Absolutety The Princess Bride. Book or film i’ll take either.
I’d love to say something cooler, but any Doctor Who OST album.
What 3 words would you use to describe Baobab?
Solidarity, Creativity, Care
