Carlo Geromel

Fundraising Lead
A few words about me
I have worked in the charity sector for 10 years, supporting vulnerable individuals in the fields of advocacy, mental health and human rights. I strongly believe in a world where everyone deserves to be happy, and working at Baobab allows me to pursue this goal. As a migrant in the UK, I have learned what it means to be far from your family and friends, and the importance of finding a new community abroad.
What does your role at Baobab involve?
I lead Baobab’s fundraising efforts, which involves securing funding to sustain our vital work. This includes writing funding applications, liaising with generous donors (both trusts and individuals) and keeping them updated about our activities. Fundraising is a challenging role, but it’s very enjoyable – especially when you have a brilliant team supporting you everyday.
What is your desert island books and music?
Wu Ming are my favourite writers – a collective of Italian authors who write historical novels mixed with social issues. I love world music, especially cumbia, reggae, afrobeat and Brazilian grooves.
What 3 words would you use to describe Baobab?
Supportive, Happy and Community
