We offer support in relation to dealing with the lengthy processes of asylum protection and asylum seeking. We prepare clinical reports for solicitors working in asylum proceedings and in civil actions involving young asylum seekers.
We also offer advice and advocacy in connection with benefits and housing.
We offer support to those in education, or looking for education, and help with accessing appropriate healthcare, housing benefits and, where necessary, adequate substitute parental care.
We work with other agencies, both statutory and voluntary, in order to support young refugees with mental health difficulties as soon as possible after their arrival in the United Kingdom. We liaise with solicitors, reception organisations for young refugees, schools, colleges and local health providers and refugee community groups.
We accompany each young person in the process of searching for disappeared family members through the Red Cross and UN organisations.
We also, increasingly, provide specialist assessments on the mental health and welfare of detained children as part of the advocacy process for these vulnerable children.
